Small-town politics can be murder… or maybe they ought to be.

It's been ten years since LaFey Manor, and Cheryl has worked hard to put those horrors behind her. But horror comes back knocking after her school superintendent husband fires the principal of Port Goode Elementary for inappropriate behavior. In response, a group of right-wing zealots start a harassment campaign in defense of the fired principal, calling for the removal of Cheryl's husband, the only Black superintendent in the district's history. 

The onslaught of intimidation and death threats drive Cheryl to the edge, where she makes a call that will change her family's life forever.

Enter Alia, her estranged best friend who has grown to wear many hats: police officer, serial killer, and avenger. When called, she eagerly rushes to defend Cheryl from anyone wishing her harm, by any means necessary. But is Alia's help the kind that Cheryl wants?
